The study of these seasonal changes such as the flowering of plants, emergence of insects and migration of birds is known as phenology - nature's own calendar, which I discovered when I began researching ideas for my project. 

It's been super-hard to decide what to put in and what I had to leave out each month, and inevitably more has been omitted than I have been able to include, though I thought about all my choices very carefully.  I have left the centre of the panel blank so you can personalise your wheel, perhaps with your name, date, or another design that will make your Country Year unique to you.

I have now listed this project for pre-orders over in my Etsy shop .  The listing is for a plain cotton panel (156gsm) printed with the full wheel of the year design. I will finish the edges of your panel for you by serging (overlocking) them so it won't fray when you're stitching and you'll be able to begin straight away. Along with the fabric panel you will also receive a printed booklet with details of how to stitch your design including DMC floss colours and stitches used. The finished project displays beautifully in a 13" hoop (not included)

As an extra bonus when you receive your panel you will be able to download two further digital files - a stitch dictionary explaining how to work the less common stitches and an illustrated almanac taking you around the English country year.
