It's blossom time and the May Magazine is out tomorrow!

Hi ,

It seems to have been a very long time since I've written to you, and I do apologise for that. My excuse is that suddenly things seem to have got very busy here at Bustle & Sew HQ. We have had two new additions to the family - a pair of lovely young hens, one black and one black and white speckled whom we have named Mabel and Plum. They haven't produced any eggs yet, and I don't think will do so for at least another month, but perhaps that's not such a bad thing as the older ladies are laying almost every day. Luckily we have had plenty of guests staying in our shepherd's huts, Rhubarb and Custard who have been very happy to enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast!

The garden is full of blossom now, and the Kitchen Garden is beginning to become more productive again. I was delighted to be able to fill a jug with herbs, as well as a couple of rhubarb flowers that had to be removed, for our sitting room - so much nicer than shop-bought flowers...

There aren't any herbs or chickens in this month's edition of the Bustle & Sew Magazine, but there's plenty of blossom, including this little bird, inspired by the lovely pink and white blossom on our apple trees...

As well as some lovely seasonal recipes, favourite May time traditions and the burgeoning countryside around us. This month brings the eightieth anniversary
of VE (Victory in Europe) Day, and so it seemed a good time to write about the courageous wartime activities of Phyllis Latour, an agent in occupied France. As well as all this of course, there are six Bustle & Sew patterns and much more besides.
